Account Deletion

You can delete your account directly from within the App. Account deletion removes your personal data from our servers while preserving your local data (interest points and preferences) on your device, so you do not lose your offline experience.

How to Delete Your Account

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

Delete your account directly from the App in a few taps:

  1. Open Notify me Here and go to Profile
  2. Tap Delete Account
  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted

Your account and all associated server-side data will be deleted automatically. You do not need to leave the App or send an email.

Method 2: Email Request (If App Is Uninstalled)

If you have already uninstalled the App, you can request account deletion by email:

  1. Send an email to support@notifymehere.com
  2. Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request - Notify me Here"
  3. Include in your email:
    • The email address associated with your Notify me Here account
    • Your request to delete your account and all associated data

Data Deleted from Our Servers

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our servers:

  • Account Information: Your email address, display name, and profile picture
  • Cloud Interest Points: All saved locations and their associated data stored in the cloud (premium users)
  • Subscription Data: Records of your subscription status (payment information is managed by Google Play and not stored by us)
  • Crash Reports & Logs: Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days, after which they are automatically purged. Infrastructure logs (IP addresses) are retained by Supabase for up to 90 days. These are deleted automatically and cannot be manually expedited.

Data Preserved on Your Device

Account deletion removes only server-side data. The following data remains on your device so you do not lose your offline experience:

  • Interest Points: All interest points stored locally on your device remain intact and continue to function for geofencing and notifications
  • Preferences & Settings: Your app settings, notification preferences, and radius configurations are preserved
  • Notification History: Any notification history stored locally is not affected by account deletion

If you also wish to remove local data from your device, you may do so by clearing the app data in your device settings or by uninstalling the app.

Data Retention

After your account is deleted:

  • All personal data is permanently removed from our active systems immediately for in-app deletion, or within 30 days for email requests. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged according to our infrastructure provider's standard retention cycle.
  • No data is retained after the deletion process is complete, unless retention is required to comply with legal obligations or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims
  • Local data remains on your device unless you choose to remove it (see above)

Processing Time

In-app deletion: Your account and server-side data are removed from active systems immediately upon confirmation. Email requests: Will be processed within 30 days of receipt. You will receive an email confirmation once the deletion is complete.

Important Notes

  • Account deletion is permanent and irreversible — your server-side data cannot be recovered
  • Deleting your account does NOT cancel your subscription. You must cancel it via Google Play to stop future billing.
  • Your local data (interest points and preferences) is preserved on your device after account deletion
  • After deletion, you will need to create a new account if you wish to use cloud sync or other account features again
